Coronavirus is creating unique demands and new stresses for people around the world. Staying quarantined, and constantly remembering to wear a mask when you leave your home, make the thought of a safe, relaxing vacation seem more elusive than ever before. This once-a-century pandemic (we hope) is requiring all of us to rethink our priorities, relationships, and responsibilities. At Luxury Lifestyle Charters we have been thinking about all these issues too, and want to tell you how we handle your safety.
To begin, we require each guest to receive a Covid-19 test within 10 days of departure and forward the results to your Charter Specialist. Next, all of the crew and guests are tested a second time, using a 90-minute “rapid test” before embarking on your yacht.
In order to allow for thorough cleaning of the yacht, a minimum of 2-days is scheduled between each charter. This is why our calendar reflects an alternating schedule of 7-day and 4-day charters. Longer charters are welcome provided they do not overlap with other guests’ dates and our “safety window”.
We professionally disinfect and sanitize all interior surfaces and exterior lounge areas as well as high-frequency touchpoints within the vessel including tenders and water toys. The professionals at Blue Star Marine sanitize our yacht using Electrostatic Sprayers which produce an electrically-charged spray able to ‘wrap-around’ surfaces of all types for an even coat. The electrical charge causes an attraction-force between the sprayed droplets and the target surfaces, this attraction-force is 75 times greater than the force of gravity.
This means when the droplets approach the target surface, they will reverse direction and move upwards against gravity, allowing our disinfectant solution to reach the underside, backside and penetrate the hardest to reach places.
Surfaces that are already covered with the disinfecting solution will repel the spray, making this method extremely efficient. The result is a clear disinfectant coating that sanitizes and kills harmful pathogens on all types of surfaces that could be found in a yacht, including fine furnishings, electronics, and sensitive materials.
Electrostatic Disinfection is currently the method of choice against Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the cruise and airline industries.
